Roof Types & Materials

Materials We Install and Repair
Choosing a roof isn't just about picking a color. It's a 20 to 50 year decision that affects your energy bills, your insurance rates, your curb appeal, and whether you can sleep through the next hurricane without worrying. True Force Roofing works with every major roof type installed in North Central Florida, and we walk you through the tradeoffs honestly before you commit.
We're GAF Master Elite certified, which gives us access to the highest-tier warranty options on qualifying shingle installs. But we're not single-material specialists. Metal, tile, flat, and specialty systems are all in our wheelhouse, and we'll recommend what actually fits your home and budget, not just what earns us the best margin.

The Best Roofing Materials
- Asphalt Shingles. The most common choice nationwide for good reason. Affordable, fast to install, and available in countless colors and profiles. GAF Timberline HDZ and UHDZ shingles are our go-to for residential installs, backed by some of the strongest warranties in the industry.
- Metal Roofing. Standing seam, corrugated, and stone-coated steel systems. Incredibly durable, highly wind-resistant, reflects solar heat, and can last 40 to 70 years. A favorite for rural properties and homes where long-term ownership is the plan.
- Stone-Coated Steel. The strength of metal with the look of shingle, tile, or shake. Stone-coated steel panels deliver Class 4 impact resistance, 120+ mph wind ratings, and 50-year performance, while blending into traditional Florida neighborhoods better than exposed metal. A strong fit for HOAs that don't allow standing seam.
- Tile Roofing. Clay and concrete tile roofs look distinctive, hold up beautifully in heat, and often outlast the homeowner. Higher upfront cost, but potentially the lowest cost over the life of the home.
- Flat & Low-Slope Systems. TPO, PVC, and modified bitumen for commercial properties, additions, and some residential structures. As an authorized Duro-Last contractor, we install factory-fabricated PVC roofing systems with industry-leading warranties built specifically for low-slope applications. Specialized install, specialized warranties.
How to Choose the Right Roof
The right roof depends on more than price per square foot. We walk through the full picture with every homeowner considering a new roof.
- Budget. Upfront cost and financing options.
- Lifespan. How long you plan to stay in the home, and what that means for amortized cost.
- Architectural style. What actually looks right on your house and your neighborhood.
- Weather exposure. Wind rating, impact resistance, and how the material handles Florida's UV and humidity.
- Energy efficiency. Reflectivity, insulation compatibility, and how much heat the roof lets into the attic.
- Insurance considerations. Some materials qualify for premium discounts, especially after recent Florida code updates.
- Local codes and HOA rules. What's allowed where you live.
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all recommendations. Every home is different, and every homeowner has different priorities. Our job is to give you the real pros and cons so you can pick the right fit with confidence.
